Wanted Michael Anthony-James Louchart $5,000 Reward
Officials have made two arrests and recovered a handful of the guns stolen from Joe Gun, Inc. earlier this month. They still are searching for one man considered to be armed and dangerous. On the loose is 33-year-old Michael Anthony-James Louchart, who has been living in Saginaw County, Saginaw County Sheriff Charles Brown said at a Tuesday afternoon press conference. Brown said Louchart slipped through investigators' hands Monday night as officials served a search warrant in Chesaning. Louchart drove past two undercover patrol vehicles and then blew through a stop sign. Due to the dangerous snowy road conditions, deputies did not pursue Louchart. In addition to Saginaw County deputies, the Midland County Sheriff's Office, Saginaw Police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives helped serve the warrants, one in Chesaning and one in the City of Saginaw. Recovered at the homes in addition to the three pistols and a semi automatic rifle - all part of the 200 guns stolen from the Midland County gun dealer - were an array of prescription drugs, small plastic bags of marijuana, one marijuana leaf, rolling papers and a scale, the barrel that was sawed off a shotgun, ear plugs, magazines, a gun lock, cash, ammunition and two walkie talkies. Brown also said officials served another warrant Tuesday, recovering more of the stolen guns. Arrested were one man and one woman on an eight-count warrant authorized by Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael Thomas. Charges against the pair are conducting a criminal enterprise, receiving and concealing stolen property, possession of burglar tools, conspiracy, possession of firearms by felons and three counts of felony firearms. If Louchart is seen, Midland County Sheriff Jerry Nielsen said it's important to notify law enforcement right away. "Do not attempt to apprehend" he said. "(He) should be considered armed and dangerous." According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, Louchart's criminal background includes breaking and entering with the intent to steal, unlawfully driving away an automobile, larceny in a building and receiving and concealing stolen property. He was discharged in March 2003.
