Charles Ellinger O'Brien has been ordered to appear before a federal court judge this month on allegations that he violated one of the conditions of his release by drinking.O'Brien had to submit to drug and alcohol-abuse testing and the federal probation office says O'Brien began drinking last August.His attorney said that if it is shown he violated conditions of his probation, O'Brien could be sent to prison.
O'Brien pleaded guilty to stealing $450,000 from SunTrust. Court records show he has bipolar disorder and a history of alcohol abuse and a brain injury. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons would not guarantee that a specific treatment regimen would be followed.
