Jefferson County pastor and Trussville attorney have been arrested for allegedly selling phony securities to investors, the Alabama Securities Commission said Monday.Randall Layne Pardue, a Pinson resident and pastor of a local unnamed church, and Cary Alan Burdette, an attorney with a practice in the Trussville area, were recently booked into the Jefferson County Jail and indicted for unlawfully conducting securities business without a proper license, according to ASC.“It is alleged that numerous investors have been affected by the two men’s actions,” the agency said in a written statement.Burdette turned himself in and was released on $100,000 bond. He was charged with 13 counts of fraud, four counts of theft of property, and one count each of sale of a security by an unregistered agent and sale of an unregistered security.Pardue was arrested by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies earlier this month and was later released on $5,000 bond. He was charged with seven counts of fraud, theft of property and one count each of sale of an unregistered security and sale of a security by an unregistered agent.
