Two former California radio hosts of a money matters show have been charged with real estate fraud.
Ventura County sheriff's Sgt. Cary Peterson says 58-year-old Kenneth Powell, 62-year-old Kathryn Rose and 68-year-old Paul Charles Lascola were arrested Wednesday after prosecutors charged them with crimes ranging from fraudulent land deals and misappropriation of more than $3 million in investor funds.
Each defendant is charged with dozens of felonies. Bail is set at $1 million each.
Powell and Rose were known as "Ken and Katie" when they hosted weekend radio infomercial shows called "Academy of Real Estate," "Money Intelligence" and "The Ken & Katie Show" on Ventura radio station KVTA.
Listeners were encouraged to attend investment seminars, where they were led to invest in various properties.
