Richard Girouard, 54, of Norwalk and Paul Mayotte, 68, of Brookfield are charged with conspiracy, financial institution bribery, bank fraud, wire fraud and money laundering.Authorities say Girouard and his companies made about $6 million in profits from the scheme.Girouard operated the company and Mayotte was the chief financial officer. The indictment alleges they paid $1.4 million for confidential bank information from a bank official to submit winning bids for Fleet Bank's sale of distressed loans.Girouard and Mayotte also are accused of defrauding an investor of more than $400,000.
