Garret Griffith Gililland III is fighting extradition from Spain
Authorities say one of three suspects in a $100 million mortgage-fraud scheme has been arrested in Spain. Federal prosecutors in Sacramento say Garret Griffith Gililland III is fighting extradition. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matt Stegman and Russell Carlberg said Tuesday that the 27-year-old Chico man was caught in October, a month after he was charged and fled. They said they could not release the information earlier because of their ongoing investigation. Last week they charged Christopher Warren, 26, and Scott Cavell, 25, both of Sacramento, after they fled the country. All three face fraud and conspiracy charges in connection with Loomis Wealth Solutions, a Roseville-based investment company prosecutors say defrauded investors and mortgage companies.
