Phillis Powers, 52, Sandra Barney, 54, Carver Barney, 57, and Dennis Eugene, 49, are wanted by Sacramento police for alleged criminal trespass
Phillis Powers, 52, Sandra Barney, 54, Carver Barney, 57, and Dennis Eugene, 49, are wanted by Sacramento police for alleged criminal trespass. Sgt. Norm Leong said all four people conspired to unlawfully enter the house on 3700 Clubside Lane. Arrest warrants were issued Tuesday for four people tied to a rental fraud case in North Natomas, Sacramento police said.None of them was at the house on Tuesday.Detective Mike Wood said Powers, a real estate broker, rented out the house. He said that when detectives arrived last week, they found Eugene, a relative of the Barneys, who said he was hired by Median Group to clean the home.Police determined that Aurora Properties purchased the home on Jan. 29, but didn't know of any leasing arrangement and hadn't heard of Powers. Aurora Properties told detectives that the property was vacant when the sale took place. The Realtor for Aurora Loan Services has since been given control of the property, Leong said."This crime may have gone unnoticed if it weren't for the community paying attention to what is going on in their neighborhood. This was not a case where innocent victims got scammed into moving into a vacant property but a scam to steal from the property owners," Leong said in a news release.
