Gang boss gets HSBC credit card for false alias | Canada | News | Toronto Sun: "- Banking giant HSBC Canada gave violent Quebec street gang boss Ducarme Joseph a credit card with a $10,000 limit after the mere stroke of a pen - the gangster's - even though he used a false variation of his own name on the application form, an ongoing QMI Agency investigation has found.
Joseph signed an HSBC Mastercard application form with the name 'Joseph Ducarme,' one of his underworld aliases. He offered no other information about his job or sources of income when he applied for credit and signed the application form at the St. Leonard branch of HSBC Canada on Oct. 8 2008, internal HSBC documents show.
The serious paperwork shortcomings are the latest in a series of dealings that HSBC has had with Joseph as the bank faces international allegations that it may have helped 1,700 Canadians evade income taxes by offering them offshore private accounts in Switzerland."
