Gang that flooded north-east with crack cocaine is smashed - Herald Scotland | News | Crime & Courts: "Police have smashed a major gang smuggling crack cocaine for Scotland’s most lucrative drugs market.
Detectives from Aberdeen yesterday declared their biggest victory yet against one of the English-organised crime groups that have come to dominate the north-east.
Four men, originally from the West Midlands, were jailed for a total of 18-and-a-half years for their part in flooding the region with crack cocaine and heroin. Another three men and a woman will be sentenced later.
Senior police sources last night said their imprisonment showed that the north-east of Scotland had become an “increasingly hostile environment” for English gangsters."
